The COVID-19 and Diabetes Assessment (CODA) Study

PI(s): Russel Rothman, Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Purpose: The research aims to address pressing questions from patients and clinicians concerning the linkage between diabetes and COVID-19. It seeks to delve into how COVID-19 impacts glycemic control issues, affects vascular function, triggers inflammation, and heightens the risk of blood clot formation among individuals with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Additionally, the study will investigate the influence of genomic, social, and environmental elements on metabolic function, as well as assess the effects of both COVID-19 infection and treatments on outcomes related to diabetes.
