Teaming Researchers Up with Stakeholders to Test Trustworthy Engagement and Measures: TRUST TEAM

PI(s): Virginia Brown (The Hastings Center for Bioethics); Phillip Schnarrs (University of Pittsburgh)

Purpose: This study is the first one of its kind to investigate the role of organizational trustworthiness in shaping research engagement processes and outcomes. It will focus on understanding the perspectives of diverse patients and other partners (e.g., clinicians, researchers, community-based organizations) regarding organizational trustworthiness as related to research and their beliefs in how these perspectives have shaped relationship-building and interpersonal trust. Improving the trustworthiness of academic medical centers and similar organizations is critical to improving engagement in research.
