SUMMER 2025
Centering Patient Voices: The CODA Engagement Advisory Board
Engagement is at the heart of every study at PaTH, and the CODA Engagement Advisory Board is connecting patients with diabetes and their caregivers with clinicians and researchers across the network to make sure the research we do improves outcomes that matter in the real world. The CODA study, led by Russell Rothman of Vanderbilt University, aims to examine how COVID infection affects the trajectory of type 2 diabetes.
The CODA Engagement Advisory Board (EAB), led by Drs. Megan Hamm and Kathleen McTigue, meets monthly to develop a newsletter with study updates, timely tips for managing diabetes, and an “advice from a health coach” column, to which study participants can submit questions. The EAB also works collaboratively with the CODA study team to ensure research reciprocity for trial participants.
