The Mast Cell Society Sits Down with Story Booth

Natasha Norman, the PaTH Engagement Project Coordinator, recently had the honor of speaking at The Mast Cell Society’s (TMS) biennial meeting, TMS MastCellCon. At MastCellCon, Natasha introduced Story Booth to the TMS community, providing a platform to collect and share personal experiences from patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and researchers navigating the challenges of mast cell disease. Natasha was also featured in a guest blog titled The Power of Sharing Your Story, marking the beginning of an exciting partnership between Story Booth and The Mast Cell Society.

Established in 1995, TMS is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to patients, families, and health care professionals, affected by mast cell diseases, while advancing research and education. Mast cells are blood cells that have important roles in the immune and neuroimmune systems. TMS started as a way to address the critical knowledge gap surrounding Mastocytosis - a rare condition that causes an overproduction of mast cells, leading to a continuous allergic reaction – and has remained steadfast in its commitment to improving patient outcomes.  Over the years, TMS has served as a vital resource, offering patient-centered tools such as educational guides, support groups, advocacy efforts, and funding opportunities for researchers. Their work bridges the needs of patients and the scientific community, advancing treatments and care for those impacted by mast cell disorders.

If you would like to learn more about the amazing work that TMS is doing, you can visit their website at tmsforacure.org. While you’re there, you can also read their guest blog story featuring Natasha and Story Booth! We look forward to continued effort to raise awareness and share the diverse experiences within this remarkable community.
